Thread: any ideas for monetizing a jokes website?

I've got a jokes/humor website that I started for fun, and that is now getting a bit of traffic. Does anyone have any ideas on how one could make money on a jokes website? I don't think adsense would do very well since I don't think advertisers would have much interest in being on a jokes page. Any thoughts on what one could do with it?
Maybe sell funny saying t-shirts? But then again, I don't want to get in the business of shipping stuff...
I appreciate any ideas.

Set up a daily Joke-of-the-Day newsletter that people can opt into. Include a few affiliate marketing coupon links in each newsletter.

I like the idea of the newletter for the daily joke, but what kind of affiliate offers would be related to jokes and humor, or would you just include general links to someone like Amazon? I'm used to affiliate offers on things like hard drives, computers, etc, for people interested in computers, for example, but I'm not sure what products would be related to someone that wanted a daily joke.

I just went to zazzle. Looks like you can offer all sorts of customized stuff. I'll have to look into this. Interesting. I'm guessing they do the printing and shipping, and then you get a cut. Any idea how much, or is it on their website?

Your niche is really complex to target. SMS-related advertisers would be willing to spend money on the jokes site. If you have already decided, jump in & explore. I just visited some jokes site & Google is serving ads to those sites. It should not matter.
