I used to run Google Analytics on it, but redid my footer and never put it back. :PYou should install analytics there, or else you'll never know details from your visitors, specially pageviews per user, bounce rate and country.
I'll be honest, I don't really put much SEO/Webmaster effort into my forum. I just keep things running smoothly and interact with the community. They like me, I like them, and the forum maintains itself. I stopped SEO efforts and things of that nature once I realized how difficult it would be to make it anymore profitable than it currently is. Nobody wants to buy ads on such a generalized site. It still ranks well for a ton of keywords, which brings in traffic. Maybe one day I'll be motivated to invest more into it.
HTTPS shouldn't really be a deciding factor. :PAdsense is https all the way, at least.![]()
@Shenron
Will let you know. Still awaiting my infolinks approval to replace the Kontera on the site I intend to use it on for the test. I looked at my macro-level stats for the past 30 days, it is slightly higher at 2 cents a click...
@Kovich
I've used the free version of statcounter.com some that you might like as a G Analytics alternative if you're adverse to using Big G...
Cheers,
James
@shenron,
Ok, approved. 1 day of full data. CPC increased to 4 cents per click with Info links from 2 cents per click (sports niche) with Kontera. CTR is roughly the same (within a percentage point). GOing to run the test for a week to see for sure before kicking all of the sites over. Took 2 days to get approved. Still not close to Big G...but does not appear to affect G earnings for me (similar to the negligible effect of Kontera). Went with double underlined, blue colored ads.
Cheers,
James
Well, it seems to be working out well so far.
My average earning per click is $0.85 - what about you guys?
Hey Kovich,
I should have caveated that I'm doing a sports niche for the test.
Day 2, 4.1 cents per click on infolinks...but for the first day ever (for me) Kontera jumped to 6 cents a click on the other sports site being used for the test....weird. May take the test out to a month+ to have 1k clicks to compare. Kontera has never been above 2-3 cents/click for me in sports, health, tech in about 6 mos of use.
eCPM for Big G on the same days has been $15 and $12 (the K vs Info test on the sports sites)...
Which of your niches/sites are you seeing the .85/click on? might inspire me to expand the testing![]()
Cheers,
James
All coming from my debate forum. I haven't installed it on any other sites yet.Which of your niches/sites are you seeing the .85/click on? might inspire me to expand the testing![]()

Cool. I'll let my test ride and decide what to do in a few weeks. Just hate leaving money on the table!
I am testing it on one of my sites...
Only got 1 day of data so far...
Adsense made $30
Infolinks $14 on top of that
SO basically and increase of $14 for the day on that site - minus whatever the infolink clickers would have clicked on my Adsense - which as far as I can see isn't much as my Adsense CTR is pretty close to average.
