Yeah you are right, there are very few sites without ads.
I cannot even think of one except Youngest Blogger, LOL.

No see the homepage footer. Am planning to remove them...not too sure.
Well, most people are trying to make money from their site. How are they going to make money with out ads?
How about Twitter? There is a site that is doomed, or at least doomed to charge a service fee. There is simply too many people using clients or ad-ons like mine where you don't even need to go to Twitter to use it.

Btw no ads on Let's Sermo too :P
And @camp185 yeah your right. They have just introduced ads, lets see how they go about it.
There's no ads on Apple's website - I think most blogs you see will have one form of advertisement or another, whether it be Affiliate Marketing, Direct Ads or PPC, most bloggers want to generate revenue from their blogs.
These are a few websites I have:
BabesCast.Com - Busty Babes! (NSFW) -- It has zero ads
How I retired at the age of 16! -- It has zero ads
The reason is because I'm not sure which ads to add and where to add them so I'll go further with the websites, without having ads on them![]()
Well some of the sites with no ads must have their own server. I know if I had my own server I probably would be selling hosting to pay for the costs.
How does wikipedia make money if they don't have ads or anything like that? They have a bunch of views too. They are well known.
Wikipedia is a not-for -profit site
I'm sure they are making a lot of money by selling statistics from all around the world to big companies reselling that info again. WikiPedia KNOWS WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR and much more![]()
Everytime they're in need of some extra money the "Donate to WikiPedia" frame is on their website too. So they easily get $6,000,000.00 in one month by doing that. They probably have private investors too.
Well it's one big deal about money, Twitter is the same -- they have no ads, but are making money by selling information to companies that use them to make up statistics etc.
