    No More Smowtion!

I have officially stopped using Smowtion on my websites.

    Why? Simple.
On more than one occasion, while I was browsing my own sites, were advertisements displayed that redirected me off my site and to another that tried to get me to download things and harassed me with javascript exit pop-ups and more. I received reports of this from other visitors as well.

It infected the computers of at least one visitor.
A close friend of mine was browsing my forum, was redirected by an advertisement, and infected with a Trojan, and had all the photographic (screenshot) evidence to prove it.

So, if you want your visitors infected, stolen and harassed - go with Smowtion!

Did you report it to Smowtion when you first saw it?

Of course. I filed a report with my 'Account Executive' and tagged it as the highest possible priority. No reply, no response, nothing.

I doubt they would do anything on their part

I'm sorry your experience was bad.

I'll continue using Smowtion for now, it's still working the best for me - and a lot less crap than RightMedia ads.

However, I am using Smowtion a little less now as I am looking into using more and more CPA and direct advertising for my proxy.

Sad to hear that. As I haven't received a complaint yet, and as I don't click my ads I have not been aware of any problems.

Can you post the screenshots for a picture is worth a thousand words.
    Thanks.

It has nothing to do with clicking your own advertisements.
These problems arose from them simply being displayed on the page, causing the page to be redirected.

And yes, I'll see if I can find a screenshot - but I don't see what the purpose would be.

This is the first time I hear someone say Smowtion ads not being clean, so it would have been interesting to see which ad caused the trouble.
