Test: Removing eBay Ads

Until just now, I had a large eBay ad in the footer of every article at Tools Keep.

I deleted the eBay ads because I am curious to see how their absence will affect AdSense CTR.

I am creating this topic to remind me to check back in about a month. One of my many bad habits is to create a wonderful test and then forget to check on the results.

This reminds me of my Chitika experience, when my adsense eCpm dropped to 1/2...
I've kicked Chitika afterwards!

Same thing happened to me yesterday. I added Chitika, suddenly the AdSense dropped to a fraction of the day before per click, I removed Chitkia this morning and this afternoon my AdSense clicks are back to their usual value.

Since removing the eBay ads, AdSense CTR has fallen slightly and AdSense CPM has fallen by over 20%.

Cause and effect in this industry can be really difficult to correlate.
