    Webmasters and YouTube

A promising relationship or a failure?
Can we, as webmasters/bloggers/freelancers use YouTube to our advantage?

Let's imagine some of the possibilities... if you own a blog about making money you could try and discuss some of your ideas in video form and drive traffic to your blog. You may also try becoming a YouTube Partner once you have the right number of subscribers and content - which results in money through the advertisements displayed by YouTube.

Would an idea like this be successful? If so, successful enough to justify the time and effort?

    Let me hear your thoughts.

If you can produce interesting and informative videos that people enjoy, then it would be successful, cause people who view your videos will want to check out your site, thus bringing you more visitors.

Ok, and what are some of the "other" possibilities to this? You have only touched the surface and dont even know it.

I have been a youtube partner for about a year.

How "successful" the project will be, is determined by how much time and effort you put into it.

Developing your videos and your youtube channel is going to take a lot of work and a lot of time. Its nothing that is going to happen overnight. Unless you have some kind of real talent you can tap into, expect to spend 1 year making high quality videos before you get any real attention.

I've gone the opposite direction and done some embedding of YouTube videos into my pages to make them "feel" more content-heavy and authoritative.

I should me making videos, but I just can't stand the idea of doing it.
