When a visitor comes to your web pages and clicks on an affiliate ad, a "cookie" is stored in that visitors web browser cache. If the visitor goes back to the merchants web site the next day and buys something, that cookie is read and you are credited for the sale.
Cookie "stuffing" is any trick which puts the cookie into the visitors web browser cache without the visitor clicking on an affiliate link.
There are quite a few ways to do this, but I think that it's best for me to help you stay out of trouble by not telling you. Cookie stuffing can get you banned from affiliate programs and may get you sued or even charged in criminal court.
yeah you are right buddy, I too heard that it may even considered as a criminal offense, but still I could not find a proper answer why it is considering so?
and one more doubt is how long will be the cookie remains active..till the user clears it ? or upto one or two weeks?
Yes the cookie stuffer will only make money from the actual sales, not just cookies in users computers.
The easiest way to do cookie stuffing is with an iframe. It's like having a small page load within another page. For more read up on Blackhat SEO - Esrun » Cookie stuffing and Cookie Stuffing, Iframe | Blackhat Cookie Stuffing
Hi friend thanks for the info. I just tried doing this by placing a cookie image stuff in a hub(hubpages). The image was displayed and it was working well. But when i was checking today the post has been flagged. I think hubs are not supporting these kind of activities..
Also, to do that you have to know how to do it properly first. Else your affiliate/CPA account will be terminated straight away.
