From your experience, which "color of the website" (background, overall color) do visitors prefer? Of course, I am talking about which color makes them to click more on ads.

For me it's white colour.
I prefer white as well. I think black could work well with the myspace crowd.
White, I think
White, with blue accents.

I swear, by my life and my love of it, that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine.
A good reason to not use black is that people browsing the web at work would not be happy to have such an obviously non-work related site on their monitor screen.
But I think black would work well for sites offering say jewelery, fashion, movies, and gaming since it relates to the clothing style of the sophisticated buyers or can offer strong contrast between the shiny things being advertised on the site and the black background.
It can get boring always using white as the background I think.
My forum signature is under construction.

Interesting statement, I never thought about it this way. On the other hand, I see a lot of dark/black work related websites too.A good reason to not use black is that people browsing the web at work would not be happy to have such an obviously non-work related site on their monitor screen.
