British Government Details Reporters at the best of the US under Terror Laws

In his first interview since returning to his home in Rio de Janeiro early on Monday, Miranda said the authorities in the UK had pandered to the US in trying to intimidate him and force him to reveal the passwords to his computer and mobile phone."They were threatening me all the time and saying I would be put in jail if I didn't co-operate," said Miranda. "They treated me like I was a criminal or someone about to attack the UK … It was exhausting and frustrating, but I knew I wasn't doing anything wrong."

Miranda – a Brazilian national who lives with Greenwald in Rio – was held for the maximum time permitted under schedule seven of the Terrorism Act 2000 which allows officers to stop, search and question individuals at airports, ports and border areas.

Apparently now reporters are criminals if they report the "wrong" information. I cant help but be stricken by the irony of the government abusing anti-terror laws in an effort to recover data showing they violate our fourth amendment rights with impunity. How believable is Obama's claim that domestic spying programs are never abused now? It would seem that any tool put at their disposal will be happily abused if the situation calls for it.

This whole affair is putting the leaders of western governance (The UK and the US) in the same light as regimes behind the iron curtain we used to criticize.

We're not in Kansas anymore, Toto.

The governments are rapidly changing and moving in the wrong direction with respect to liberty and freedom. It appears more and more that the government leaders know something about an impending future that they are not telling us. Some of Alex Jones' Chicken Little scenarios are looking less like fanatical fantasies every day.

And that is why the media is so liberal in the USA.
They only talk and report on what the government tells them.

Again, you have to control the media to control the people.

Follow the money....All mass media belong to the banks, military complex and industrial. A great way to protect the oligarch in any circumstance. Like I said before, it is the great {official channels of lies}.

Like Honoré de Balzac said: "Power is not revealed by striking hard or often, but by striking true."

Washington Post to be sold to Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon

The Washington Post Co. agreed Monday to sell its flagship newspaper to Amazon.com founder and chief executive Jeffrey P. Bezos, ending the Graham family’s stewardship of one of America’s leading news organizations after four generations.
Bezos, whose entrepreneurship has made him one of the world’s richest men, will pay $250 million in cash for The Post and affiliated publications to The Washington Post Co., which owns the newspaper and other businesses.
Seattle-based Amazon will have no role in the purchase; Bezos himself will buy the news organization and become its sole owner when the sale is completed, probably within 60 days. The Post Co. will get a new, still undecided name and continue as a publicly traded company without the newspaper.

Looking at the Thread Title, I realize that I was a bit more drunk than I thought when I kicked the thread off.

British Government Detains Reporters at the Behest of the US under Terror Laws became:

"British Government Details Reporters at the best of the US under Terror Laws"

Oh Lordy. Time to drink less mid day. Or more.
