Damn, as much as I would love to have one, I do not qualify.
    I make too much money.

And my IQ is off the charts high, so there is another impediment to getting a obamaphone.

On other news, how many know that Puerto Rico voted yesterday to join the USA as the 51st state?

    Hi,

I did not hear that news. I never thought we would ever get another state.

Obama may be trying to get it up to 57 so his earlier statements seem less silly. :P

Puerto Rico voted on the statehood issue many times in the past and it was always rejected. It looks like it may have passed this time.

The issue is that as a territory, Puerto Rican citizens get most of the benefits of US citizenship, but do not have to pay Federal income taxes. As a state, they will be subject to Federal income taxes.

When I lived in Chicago I had a friend who recently moved from Puerto Rico. He described an island that was a complete mess economically, socially, politically, and ethically. It looks like a good fit for Obama and a way to pick up another 4 million new Democrat votes. However, Congress has to approve it.

It looks like the vote was a strange and conflicted.

Probably ballot stuffing by the democrats?
    Hahahahaha....

Puerto Rico...either make it a state, or let it go on it's own as a country.

It actually is part of the USA and Puerto Ricans are US citizens. I don't think it could survive on its own. Back in the 1980s there was a big push to set up manufacturing in both Puerto Rico and Haiti (not part of the USA). The idea was to solve the poverty problems by creating a manufacturing base. It sounded good, but both ideas went down in flames when companies could not find anyone with anything resembling a basic work ethic. Come to think of it, they would make good Democrats.

True, has been for many years.
    Like Guam, Samoa, etal.

Still, it should either be a state or turned into it's own country.
Probably be cheaper on the USA to make it a state and no longer a protectorate.

Agreed. I don't see any value there. It would definitely be cheaper to cut it loose, but I don't think our current emperor would turn away 3.7 million people who fit his ideal social model so well.

I didn't watch this election at all. If it came down to it, I would choose a Republican over a Democrat any time. But Romney seemed like a B movie actor to me. I always joked that he played a role and his job was to make sure Obama gets elected.

Hope I wasn't right about that.

Anything is possible. There is a growing number of people who believe that a One World Order organization (Rothchilds, Trilateral Commission, Bilderberg Group, etc) is pulling the strings in a lot of countries. people also point to the fact that they cannot achieve their One World Order goals unless the USA is effectively neutered financially.

The impression you get in your country all comes down to what they showed on TV where you live. For the first time, the number one financial support group for Obama's campaign was the liberal news media in the USA. They donated more that the unions or the trial attorneys.

The American news media actively protected Obama, just like they did during the last election, by refusing to cover the gaffs, lies and mistakes that were made. They also refused to investigate the legitimate issues that were raised, such as the illegal overseas campaign contributions Obama was accepting through his web site.

This could have been one of the most fraudulent elections in American history. A huge percentage of people (myself included) voted early by mailing in the ballots. That is probably the most insecure way there is to vote.
