Nevada job market plummets from first to worst

What happens when your home state goes from having the best job market in the nation…to the worst?
Just five years ago, Nevada was the state with the best economic conditions for workers, according to a study released last week. Now it's dead last.

Unsurprisingly, other states that boomed in the real-estate bubble — Florida, California and Arizona — joined the Silver State at the bottom of the state-by-state mid-year employment rankings published by the business news site Portfolio.com and American City Business Journals.

Florida fell from the No. 2 spot for employment prospects in 2005 to No. 49 in this year's report, which ranks the 50 states and the District of Columbia based on factors such as unemployment rates and changes in private-sector job counts. California took a slightly less drastic hit, dropping from No. 11 to second to last, right above Nevada. Arizona went from No. 3 a half-decade ago to No. 44.
Unlike these other cellar-dwelling states in the employment ratings, Michigan has spent plenty of time at the bottom. The state, which has suffered from an imploding economy for years, was ranked dead last from 2005 to 2009, according to Portfolio.com. It now stands in 48th place, above only Nevada, California and Florida.

When the housing market was booming, there were plenty of construction jobs, landscaping jobs, real estate sales jobs, etc. That has all gone bye-bye in those states.

The is one bright light in the Nevada numbers. People in Nevada are so upset with the incumbent politicians that we may finally see Harry Reid get tossed in the upcoming election.

Nevada is in bad shape. Nevada, Florida, California and Arizona in addition to the real estate bubble are also suffering from a downturn in tourism as well as a high level of illegal immigration.

The good news in Arizona is that tourism is up and estimates say that 100,000 illegals have left the state. Both are attributed to the passing of SB 1070.

As unemployment rises, more struggle to find work

For the month of July Las Vegas had a jobless rate of 14.8 percent, up from 14.6 percent for June. This means that Las Vegas has the highest unemployment rate of a major metropolitan area out of the entire United States.

Unemployment is going to get worse. The $1.8 trillion stimulus was a spending bill filled with wasteful spending that will do little to create long term job growth.

There's a high probability that we will see a stock market crash in the next 40 days. There's been three confirmed Hindenburg Omens this month on August 12th, August 19th, August 20th and there was almost one on August 11th. :

There's has always been a Hidenburg Omen prior to a stock market crash and Hindenberg Omens have predicted both Back Monday in 1987 and the Stock Market crash of 2008.

The system is broken. There are 10 millions Americans receiving unemployment payments and extended payments while at the same time, there's 10 to 12 million illegal aliens working in the US.

In fact, there's about 1.8 million tax returns filed using an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number for jobs that people in the US legally could fill. The employers don't even know that the ITIN is not a valid social security number.

The big draw for illegal aliens is the welfare payments that they receive. I really doubt the average illegal alien would bring their family to live in the US for $157 a week after taxes if they weren't able to get welfare.
