Obama President For Life? H.J. Res 15 Would Remove Presidential Term Limits If Passed

Is THIS really what America wants or needs? If the just introduced H.J. Res 15 passes, Barack Obama will LEGALLY be able to be our dictator for the remainder of his life. I surely hope that all liberty loving patriots speak up to their Congressmen and women that 4 years of Barack Obama has been bad enough, we surely don’t need him around running America into the ground for another 40 years. The story below from Investment Watch Blog.:H.J.Res. 15: Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the twenty-second article of amendment, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President.

Same idiot has introduced that bill every other year since '97. Died in committee every time. Even if it passed in the GOP controlled house, then the senate, it'd then go to the states, where it must be ratified by 2/3rds to become an amendment to the constitution.

It's fantasy legislation by a looney Dem rep from the Bronx whose only other claim to fame is pork barrel earmarks. Chances of it ever getting outta committee are slim, passing in House slimmer, Senate... (well, has to get outta the house first), and getting passed in 2/3rds of the states, when 30 have GOP governors... Pretty much nil. Nothing to worry about.

    True.
But then, everyone should have seen this one coming.
Notice that it is not white guys wanting obama in forever.

What we really need is term limits for congress. The founders envisioned a nation run by citizen statesmen taking a temporary role for the good of their nation, not a separate breed of professional politicians that had little talent aside from getting elected and re-elected.

Todays politician spend a lotta time pretending to be "the friend of the working man" so that he never has to become one. Wtf do people like Barrack Obama, who has never run a company, sweated a payroll, or earned an honest callus on his hands... Know about work?

Hell, we oughta make congress spend a few weeks a year actually building roads or something to weed out non-working pansies like him.

    Well said Rob!

All interfere with the corporate profit-making system that steers our elected politicians through lobbyists.

    Term limits will never happen.
    Why?
The ones who should have limited terms, all congressmen, are the ones that would vote on such a thing.

  7. People from both parties would surely oppose this. If only we could put limits on lobbyists!

The real problem is that too many Senators and Congressmen become corrupted by the system. The longer they are in their positions, the worse it becomes.

What we really need is to have national referendums added to the national elections. Like California and several other states, Arizona does use propositions and usually has 5 to 10 Propositions on every election ballot. When the Propositions are passed by citizens they become law. We can get a Proposition on the ballot by accumulating a required number of signatures.

Term limits for the Congress and Senate should be the first National Proposition.

Lobbyists are a major part of the problem. So are the growing number of people fraudulently receiving entitlement freebies. Does anyone really think that under Obama an additional 4.5 million people have become disabled? Everywhere I look I see another group that is enriching themselves today, but destroying the country for tomorrow.

VP Joey Biden has even less work experience than Barry Obmama. Biden worked for a law firm for 6 months when he was 27 years old. He was elected to the New Castle County council in 1970 and elected to the US Senate in 1972. So, 36 years in the US Senate and 8 years as Vice President.

Barry Obama has a more extensive resume

1975 or 1976 — ice cream scooper, Baskin-Robbins — Honolulu — Obama claims to have lost his taste for ice cream during this, his first job, the duration of which is not publicly known.

Date unknown — deli counter clerk, business name unknown — Honolulu — Obama had a summer job at a deli counter in Hawaii, making sandwiches, his spokesman said during the presidential campaign.

1980 — gift shop sales clerk, business name unknown — Honolulu — Obama worked at a gift shop in Hawaii selling island souvenirs the summer after his freshman year at Occidental College in California.

I could see the American people accept another 4 years in a war time, but otherwise I would expect that there would be far too much of an outrage for this to ever become an actual situation.
