Thread: Obamacare Strikes: Part-Time Jobs Surge To All Time High; Full-Time Jobs Plunge By 24

The high deductibles are going to shock a lot of suckers who believed in ObamaCare based on what they were told.

I know the Dems do not going expect po' people to pay for anything, so I wonder how they plan to pick up the costs. The income tax subsidy credits are only supposed to cover the actual cost of the insurance.

I also think you have to be out of your mind if you think people are going to wait for their income tax returns, and then spend the tax credit money on insurance.

Report: Obama Knew Millions Could Not Keep Their Health Insurance

Obamacare is the greatest fraud, a crime of impossible magnitude, and a deliberate act of treason all rolled into one. At what point do they American people come to grips with the fact that we have a president who commits impeachment-worthy offenses nearly once per day? When do we, if ever, stop and say “enough is enough”? NBC News: President Obama repeatedly assured Americans that after the Affordable Care Act became law, people who liked their health insurance would be able to keep it. But millions of Americans are getting or are about to get cancellation letters for their health insurance under Obamacare, say experts, and the Obama administration has known that for at least three years.

Four sources deeply involved in the Affordable Care Act tell NBC NEWS that 50 to 75 percent of the 14 million consumers who buy their insurance individually can expect to receive a “cancellation” letter or the equivalent over the next year because their existing policies don’t meet the standards mandated by the new health care law. One expert predicts that number could reach as high as 80 percent. And all say that many of those forced to buy pricier new policies will experience “sticker shock.”
Buried in Obamacare regulations from July 2010 is an estimate that because of normal turnover in the individual insurance market, “40 to 67 percent” of customers will not be able to keep their policy. And because many policies will have been changed since the key date, “the percentage of individual market policies losing grandfather status in a given year exceeds the 40 to 67 percent range.”
That means the administration knew that more than 40 to 67 percent of those in the individual market would not be able to keep their plans, even if they liked them.
Yet President Obama, who had promised in 2009, “if you like your health plan, you will be able to keep your health plan,” was still saying in 2012, “If [you] already have health insurance, you will keep your health insurance.”
“This says that when they made the promise, they knew half the people in this market outright couldn’t keep what they had and then they wrote the rules so that others couldn’t make it either,” said Robert Laszewski, of Health Policy and Strategy Associates, a consultant who works for health industry firms. Laszewski estimates that 80 percent of those in the individual market will not be able to keep their current policies and will have to buy insurance that meets requirements of the new law, which generally requires a richer package of benefits than most policies today.

It was pretty obvious all along that not one thing that Obama promised was ever part of ObamaCare. Not even the liberal media should be surprised that it cannot deliver what he promised.

Given the massive numbers of people signing up for free Medicaid through the site, it appears that may have been the real intent--to draw more people into the dependency on government through entitlements.

Washington State, 88% of the enrollments have been in Medicaid.

    Kentucky, 82% are for Medicaid.

In New York State, two-thirds of the new enrollments are for the Medicaid program.

I guess it is the new normal that politicians give the illusion that they will do what they said. It is the same political techniques around the world, but now the people are starting to be fed up with those.

Like I said earlier, these kind of policies are outdated, because we aren't in social democracies anymore and there is no room for welfare in a globalism system. Of course it will be a failure, and it is obvious that the health care systems around the world are still based on high employment they don't have anymore.

The whole thing is going to crash if they do not return in a kind of smart protectionism and if they do not re-balance the international trade to save what there is left.

Apparently someone forgot to explain this to Barack Obama.

I watched the hearing with Sebellius. What a load of unicorns and faerie dust that was.

It is very pathetic after watching the hearings that Democrats are pretty happy of their results! It is hopeless and the American people will judge the whole thing by themselves.

Well, I'm almost sure the GOP has done everything it can do to disassociate itself with this bill that they can, and it passed without a single one of their votes. And still as it becomes a failure the finger is pointed at the guys on the right side. Even for the failure of the website. How did anything the GOP said keep someone from building a functional website? Did their words and negative vibe affect the source code?

Feds reviewed only one bid for Obamacare website design

Federal officials considered only one firm to design the Obamacare health insurance exchange website that has performed abysmally since its Oct. 1 debut. Rather than open the contracting process to a competitive public solicitation with multiple bidders, officials in the Department of Health and Human Services' Centers for Medicare and Medicaid accepted a sole bidder, CGI Federal, the U.S. subsidiary of a Canadian company with an uneven record of IT pricing and contract performance.
CMS officials are tight-lipped about why CGI was chosen or how it happened. They also refuse to say if other firms competed with CGI, or if there was ever a public solicitation for building Healthcare.gov, the backbone of Obamacare’s problem-plagued web portal.
Instead, it appears they used what amounts to a federal procurement system loophole to award the work to the Canadian firm.
CGI was one of 16 companies that had been qualified by HHS during President George W. Bush's second term to deliver, without public competition, a variety of hardware, software and communication products and services.

It would have been interesting to know what kind of service the other 15 companies could have provided and why CGI was selected rather than the others.
