Thread: Obamacare Strikes: Part-Time Jobs Surge To All Time High; Full-Time Jobs Plunge By 24

CGI was the only bid reviewed. I think there is likely a trail of donations feeding back to Democrat coffers. Perhaps it was easier to do with a Canadian company. Michelle's former classmate at CGI may have brokered the deal.

That would fit the formula we saw with the solar debacle.

    1. Obama approves millions of dollars in taxpayer-backed loans under the guise of creating jobs.

    2. The companies kick back $millions of gratitude donation to the Democrats.

    3. Very little revenue is generated and only a fraction of the promised jobs are created.

    4. The company execs pay themselves $millions in bonuses funded by taxpayer backed loans and supported by Holder-run Federal courts that approve the bonuses.

    5. Each company declares bankruptcy and shuts its doors.

    6. Democrats walk away with $billions in donations and US taxpayers are stuck with the bill.

This is a brilliant plan that any con-artist would admire.

Obama Voters Shocked by Obamacare Cancellations, Skyrocketing Rates

With millions of Americans receiving Obamacare-induced health insurance cancellation letters, several of President Barack Obama’s supporters are experiencing sticker shock and expressing regret.

“I was really shocked,” said Colorado Obamacare supporter Cathy Wagner upon receiving her cancellation notice. “All of my hopes were sort of dashed. Oh my gosh, President Obama, this is not what we hoped for, it’s not what we were told.”
Wagner says the same coverage will now cost her and her husband 35% more and that they will have a higher deductible.
“Our premium for next year is going up to over $1,000 a month for two of us and we’re two fairly healthy individuals,” said Wagner.
Wagner is not alone. According to the Colorado Division of Insurance, 250,000 people in Colorado have already lost their health plans in the last few months.
Obama supporters on the West Coast are experiencing similar surprises. In San Francisco, husband and wife Lee Hammack and JoEllen Brothers, who describe themselves as “cradle Democrats,” were alarmed when they received their insurance cancelation notice informing them that their previous $550 monthly premium would now be almost $1,300, their deductible would be higher, they would pay higher hospital costs, and their out-of-pocket maximum would increase.
In a letter written to Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), the Hammacks said, “We believe that the Act is good for health care, the economy, & the future of our nation. However, ACA options for middle income individuals ages 59 & 60 are unaffordable. We’re learning that many others are similarly affected. In that spirit we ask that you fix this, for all of our sakes.”
Matthew Fleischer, 34, writing in the Los Angeles Times, said he received a cancellation notice informing him that his copays would double, urgent-care visits would quadruple, and maximum out-of-pocket expenses would go from $4,900 to $6,350.
“Needless to say, I am not pleased,” writes Fleischer. “Most young, middle-class Americans I know are happy that millions of previously uninsured people will receive free or heavily subsidized insurance under the Affordable Care Act. We just didn’t realize that, unless we had health insurance at work, we’d be the ones paying for it.”
South Carolina cancer patient Bill Elliott, who voted for Obama and also received an insurance cancellation letter, says he plans to “pay the $95 fine and let nature take its course” instead of allowing new monthly premiums over $1,300 higher under Obamacare to become a “burden on my family.”
The growing national Obamacare backlash and President Barack Obama’s dwindling 39% approval rating have Democratic politicians facing reelection worried. Next year, 33 Senate seats will be up for grabs, and 21 of those seats are currently held by Democrats, as five Senate Democrat incumbents are retiring. Last Wednesday, 15 Senate Democrats held a private meeting with Obama to voice concerns that the Obamacare fallout threatens their candidacies.
If history is any guide, they may have reason to worry. An analysis by Rhodes Cook finds that no president since John F. Kennedy with an approval rating under 50% has seen his party pick up seats in a midterm election.
Still, Obama Press Secretary Jay Carney says Democratic members of Congress remain steadfast in their commitment to Obamacare.
“Every one of the Democrats who voted for this and believed in it and fought for it, and with the president, defended it against the constant assault by Republicans and outside opponents, continue to believe in it, and believe it’s the right thing to do,” Carney said on Thursday.
Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) was even bolder.
“I think actually that Democratic candidates will be able to run on Obamacare as an advantage, leading into the 2014 election,” said Schultz on Sunday.
So far, 4,200,000 million Americans have received insurance cancellation letters due to Obamacare.
Obama promised no less than 36 times that if Americans liked their insurance, they could keep their insurance.

If they cannot keep their promises, they should cancel the affordable care act scam!

Now it looks like 30% to 40% of the web site was never completed. *** sigh ***

Obamacare bombshell: IT official says HealthCare.gov needs payment feature

Why Obama Can't Just Uncancel All Those Insurance Plans

The Republicans need to stay out of this one and let it collapse under the weight of the Obama Team's incompetence. This may be a $2 billion web site by the time it is completed.

Now would be the time to draft legislation for a plan to replace ObamaCare with something that actually will work.

On the plus side, you could say that the web site is working just as well as everything else Obama has done.

Obama Was Briefed Last Spring on Obamacare Problems

President Barack Obama, who has portrayed himself as surprised by technical problems with the government's new healthcare website, was briefed earlier this year on a consultant's report that warned of possible widespread site failures, the White House said on Tuesday. There have been weeks of questions about whether Obama understood the depth of the site's problems and let it open anyway, or simply "did not have enough awareness" of them, as the president stated at a Nov. 14 news conference.
While the government says it is improving the portal's performance every day, security experts told a Republican sponsored congressional hearing Tuesday that in their opinions, it is still not sufficiently secure to be used confidently by consumers.

Even as the administration fended off criticism of the so-called "front end" of the system, officials revealed Tuesday that they had not completed development of the "back end," the financial management component needed to finalize federal subsidies for consumers who buy health plans.
A spokeswoman for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the lead agency for the website, said it would not be completed until mid-January, weeks after the first enrollees are scheduled to begin receiving benefits under the Affordable Care Act, passed in 2010 as Obama's signature domestic policy.
The law, commonly called Obamacare, mandated that Americans have health insurance and created new online marketplaces to buy and sell policies.
Meanwhile, Obama's approval rating dipped to a low of 37 percent in a Reuters/Ipsos poll.
Bits and pieces have leaked out over the past few weeks about flaws in the site's development process. Monday night, however, Republican lawmakers who oppose Obamacare released a report and recommendations prepared by McKinsey & Co. at the government's request in March 2013.
It cited, among other things, a rushed process that left insufficient time for testing and a focus by officials on getting people enrolled versus making the system work right.
The consequence, it said, could be system failures that could make enrollment slow or at times impossible for consumers, which is exactly what happened.
Questioned about the McKinsey study, White House spokesman Jay Carney said the president had been briefed on it in the spring.
But he said the president's familiarity with the report and recommendations did not contradict previous statements from the White House that described Obama as surprised by the scope of flaws in HealthCare.gov.

I found surprising that many red flags weren't addressed, undoubtedly there is a lack of experience and professionalism in the President Obama team.

They should have use Medicare and Medicaid as a starting point and morph it to a non-profit universal health care system progressively.

The whole thing is too heavy to build an entire health care system in short time like this with hundreds of millions people.

I remember that our system wasn't build at once, they started by the industries, then retail stores, then artisans, independent businesses, and agriculture/farmers.

It took almost 30 years to build it entirely, so President Obama was very optimistic to build it in a few years here in US.

Today it was reported that the 5 million people who got notices that their insurance was cancelled by ObamaCare is just the first wave. They now expect over 50 million more cancellations because of the strict requirements dictated by ObamaCare.

I can see the point with trying to fix a system that Democrats think is broken, but the way to fix it is not to destroy the system entirely. Every thing that this guy and his teams of amateurs touches gets worse.

The main issue is that many premium health insurance contracts will be cancelled for new contracts with less benefits and are doubling under the affordable care. This will put a huge burden on the back of the people, which will make this scandalous mandatory system, unaffordable.

I guess it is obvious to see the growing disconnection gap between the elites and the people, they don't even realize in what situation the people are economically.
