Penn Judge: People Allowed to Attack People for Insulting Mohammad

You will get your butt kicked for insulting Mohammad in Pennsylvania.

    Barry Obama says about Pennsylvania:

"You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them, And they fell through the Clinton Administration, and the Bush Administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not. And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

I will bet you that the guy could and should win that one on appeal. The line, "Judge Mark Martin, an Iraq war veteran and a convert to Islam, threw the case out in what appears to be an invocation of Sharia law." means that the judge should have recused himself from this case. He had an obvious pre-disposed bias in favor of something that is not recognized by American law.

I would like to see the final results of this case, but unfortunately the news media rarely follows up on most cases.

You can't be sure that a Judge will overturn it.

Obama gives two apologies to Afghans for Quran burning. But two American Officers are shot dead in the Afghan Defense Ministry and where's the apology from Hamid Karzai?

No, we cannot. There are too many judges that should be removed from the bench.

On top of it, from what I understand, burning of the Quran is allowed in Islam--as long as it isn't done in public protest. Writing in the Quran is not, which is what the detainees were doing. Writing in the Quran alters the meaning of the words of Allah, which is why it is not allowed. Two copies of the Quran were burned because they contained cryptic writing.

I would agree that we should pack up and leave and take all of our financial aid with us. Unfortunately, Afghanistan is one of the most ignorant countries on the planet and likes living in the stone ages. It is not possible to civilize the country or bring it into the 21st century. Most people are illiterate, so they only know what they are told by tribal elders who want us to leave. AMF.

I get a kick out of our delusional president who thinks that his apology has calmed things down. He should check the news. They are still rioting and two more NATO members were murdered.

In that environment, the only thing an apology accomplishes, deserved or not, is to bolster the perceived power of the guy that receives it.

Must be nice to be able to perceive your leader is worth a damn.

The US will need to stay in Afghanistan 50 years to get the mission done. The only way that I see us winning is to keep the US force level down and at sustainable levels. Actually we were in better shape during the Bush years when the troop levels where around 21,000 US. With enough time, eventually the Taliban will get tired and will be able to build up enough friendly tribes to stabilize the situation.

The big problem with increasing US forces is that it gives the French and Germans cover to pull out their forces and leave the US holding the bag. The French are already planning to pull out next year and the Germans by the end of 2014.

Karzai is another problem. He's only 54 years old and could hang onto power another 30 years. He's already outlasted Bush and he will outlast Obama.

    Religion of peace?

Nine men of Pakistani and Afghan descent were convicted Tuesday of luring girls as young as 13 into sexual encounters using alcohol and drugs.

The men, who were convicted Tuesday of charges including rape, assault, sex trafficking and conspiracy, range in age from 22 to 59. One worked as a religious studies teacher at a mosque but it is not known if the others were religious.
