Thread: Rand Paul Fillibuster against Drone Strikes within the US blasted by McCain

  1. Rand Paul Fillibuster against Drone Strikes within the US blasted by McCain

Rand Paul ran an old fashioned 13-14 hour filibuster against an Obama CIA nomination in an effort to get the Obama admin to step away from Eric Holder's weasel worded declaration that, while not probable or advisable, drone stikes against US citizens on US soil would not necessarily be unconstitutional. While I would think anyone with an understanding of what Habeas Corpus means, knows that drone strikes against US citizens within the US is blatantly unconstitutional, the Obama admin doesn't seem to get it, and apparently, neither does Lindsay Graham or John McCain.

Setting aside Sen. Graham, lets focus on the aging Senator McCain for a moment. This is the brain trust that brought us the vice presidential candidate named Sarah Palin, who was completely unprepared to compete on a national level. This is the guy who was all about amnesty for illegals until he ran for the Presidency, at which point he became a staunch supporter for securing our borders first.

Despite his military service, McCain has come to represent everything that is wrong with Republican party. The go along to get along mentality, the spineless flip flopping, poorly thought out legislation supporting, big government loving, wishy washy political pandering scumbags we tried to flush down the sewer in Washington in 2010. The man is a turd with eyes.

Rand Paul may not be presidential material, but he is a refreshing and principled voice in Washington DC. People like John McCain who can't get behind an agenda with principals need to be handed their walking papers as soon as possible. As long as these people remain, the Republican party will remain divided, and we will be handicapped in national elections.

McCain is one of our senators here in Arizona. Unfortunately, I was one of the millions of conservatives who did not vote in the 2008 because I could not stomach a vote for McCain. All that did was help to get Obama elected. My bad.

He ran a wishy-washy presidential campaign in 2008, but the campaigns for his senate seat here in Arizona are vicious. That is why he wins in Arizona. Too bad he was not smart enough to do that in 2008. He might have received more conservative backing.

I am a very strong advocate of a 2 or 3 term limit for both Congress and the Senate. It seems that the longer they are in office, the more they lose touch with reality.

Rand Paul may be ready for a run sooner than you may think. After all, the most unqualified candidate in probably the last 100 years won the presidential election in 2008. The 2012 election showed us that people vote more for a personality and a pack of lies rather than a history of actual accomplishments. I did vote in 2012.

Rand is getting praise from both liberals and conservatives over his filibuster. Every American should be concerned whenever we have a president who repeatedly ignores and violates The Constitution. It is a direct breach of The Constitutional to issue a kill order on Americans on American soil without due process, regardless of who they are. That is in The Constitution to prevent presidents from becoming dictators who can order military strikes on adversaries, as kings once did in Europe.

I couldn't say better, particularly when you said: "2 or 3 term limit for Congress". It is perhaps the best move against corruption and out of touch with reality.

Rand Paul did well yesterday, now he has the answer...huh after 13 hours on the Senate floor!

  5. Ed Shultz declares Rand Paul a lunatic, with James Carville teaming up to call him a guy who purposefully fear mongers and stokes bonfires of conspiracy theorist fear. They wrap up the narrative with the usual "Republican party divided against itself" mantra, citing McCain and Graham's opposition to Rand Paul's filibuster.

Meanwhile, Cenk Ugar of the Young Turks (hardcore leftist) hails Rand Paul as a hero for his stand in defense of the constitution. So does Van Jones. So did Jon Stewart. If anything, Rand's filibuster seems to have garnered support from both sides of the aisle, making guys like Shultz look even more disoriented than normal. Very interesting.

I have listened to Ed Schultz's radio program several times and have never heard him say anything that was honest and truthful. He is also the guy who altered the General Petraeus testimony to make it sound like he supported Obama's position on Benghazi.

We do need to get rid of all the freaking RINOs!
And clear out the republican party of those RINOs!
Then really reach out to the Tea Party and start the ball rolling.
