Steven Seagal Considering Arizona Governor Run

Action-movie star Steven Seagal says he is considering a run for Arizona governor. The "Marked for Death" actor told KNXV-TV (Steven Seagal mulls run for Arizona Governor) that he is considering a shot at the state's highest office and has had a talk about the bid with the self-proclaimed toughest sheriff in America.
The 61-year-old made the comments while talking about his newly released reality series "Steven Seagal - Lawman: Maricopa County."
Seagal teamed up with Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio for the show that was shot in Arizona and airs on cable TV's Reelz Channel.
The martial arts expert is a member of Arpaio's posse, made up of 3,000 unpaid civilians. He also has been deputized with sheriff's offices in New Mexico, Texas and Louisiana and says he wants to increase border security.

Doesn't sound like he's a Dem... is he trying to "primary" Jan Brewer or is she retiring?

I am sure he is sincere and would make a great governor.

But, every time I would see him?
I expect him to kick someone near him in the head!

    Hi,

You have got to be kidding me. Have you seen some of his interviews? I don't see him having the panache that it takes to win an election.

    Well you know the panache....

These days, I prefer someone that do not say much but do a lot. I guess I am fed up with politicians words and nice speeches, frankly we need good actions toward the most vulnerable and middle class who still get hammered.

We have a potentially huge problem in Arizona. Sheriff Joe Arpaio is 81 years old and will not be able to continue forever. He is also under a massive attack from the Obama administration and the Democrats in Congress. He is one of the few sheriffs in the country that enforces the law regarding immigration. That makes him a target for racist pro-illegal groups like La Raza (translation: The Race) and Democrats in general.

He won over 50 court cases alleging discrimination brought by La Raza and the ACLU. But when Obama took office, he appointed an investigator who concluded that Hispanics in Arizona were the victims of the worst case of discrimination in the country. Then a Federal judge (appointed by Obama and assigned to the case by Holder) ruled that Hispanics were victims of discrimination by Sheriff Joe's deputies in traffic violation stops. The judge approved a class action suit that any Hispanic stopped by a Maricopa Country Sheriffs deputy since 2005 can join. That has the potential to cost Maricopa county taxpayers billions of dollars and award lots of money to the illegals. Yes, illegals are allowed to join. Can you say, "kangaroo court"?

Then the Obama administration revoked the Maricopa County partnership with the INS that allowed deputies to arrest illegals for being here illegally. Joe is know for his raids on businesses that illegally employ illegals, but his focus is always on identify theft crimes, which is rampant in Arizona due to the illegals. He can no longer turn them over for deportation, but he can get them convicted for identity theft and other crimes.

We are #1 in the country for identity theft and illegals are responsible for 90% of our crime. There is also an ongoing problem with hit-and-run drivers hitting cops on the side of the road. It is no surprise that they almost always turn out to be Hispanic.

Sheriff Joe has always been tough as nails, but the continued attacks from the Obama administration are wearing him down. He always easily wins reelection in Maricopa county.

We need more politicians like Sheriff Joe. Janet Brewer cannot run for governor again due to term limits in the Arizona Constitution. We need someone in that position that supports Sheriff Joe and Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu in their efforts to enforce the law. We also need to get a new president in Washington.

Can Seven Seagal win? I don't know. He comes off as a bit of a buffoon. Is he a Republican? I don't know that either, but we will soon find out.

I don't really know. Considering his work with PETA and his environmental stances, odds are he's a liberal. However this is not his first campaign.

He did this as a Republican candidate in California. See link.

He has a good chance if Joe Arpaio endorses him. This is a Republican state that is big on law and order.

He does make some good points in the video about the quality of the illegals coming in from Mexico, but I think his estimates are light. 20% to 25% of immigrants are hardened criminals. Many more have other criminal backgrounds. Some have already been deported more than a dozen times. About 50% appear to be coming in just to take advantage of benefits. The remainder are the only ones looking for work.

  10. Seem like your politicians are no different to ours here in the third world country. Ours is much worse though, we have a president who isn't even a high school graduate but lucky enough he was once an actor. He run for president and won, got convicted and came back as mayor of the capital city. Beat that!
