The United Nations Wants to Tax the Internet

I saw this today. It looks like the UN wants to tax something that they neither own nor control.

The article is interesting. I don't think that the USA could be forced into this without approval of the US Senate--and I don't think they would want to pet this latest UN skunk. It really stinks.

Hey, the useless nations run by third world countries.
They want to rule the world.

What do you expect. The United Nations gave Barry Obama the Nobel Peace Prize for the success of his Fast and Furious operation arming Mexican drug cartels. Besides the UN has a tax exemption. Why should they care about rich people buying stuff on the internet?

True on the tax exemptions while the headquarters is in NYC.
False on the peace prize. That was given by the Nobel committee. Which is now having to cut back on the money they give out.

Be good for the Nobel committee to close up shop for good.
Am sure Alfred is ticked off that over the years, they added to so many dumbass categories.

The USA should really tell the un to go to heck and move out!
And quit giving them any of our dollars!

The US has a veto at the UN, and they'd never agree to let the UN tax it... not for the obvious reason that the UN doesn't own it... but because the US would prefer to try and exert control over it themselves. Even if the UN had the ability to over-ride our veto, they'd still come to the US military to get whatever they decided enforced.

Any time I think our government is the pinnacle of corruption, I look at the UN to remind myself it could be worse.

I don't think there is any way to state this any better. Due to the fact that the USA would be the principle worldwide payee in this scheme, I wonder what devious intent for the money is behind the UN's desire to bilk us this time. The article did not clarify where the money would be spent.

The useless nations want to tax Americans for what they buy and use in the USA!
The USA, our country, actually has ceded control of a lot of FEDERAL lands over to the useless nations.

If ever there were a body of people so bent on destroying the USA, it is the useless nations.

And actually, our veto means crap today!

What the difference? They're both run by Eurotrash.

This is all part of a treaty, which under USA law cannot be imposed upon the USA unless it is ratified by the Senate.

The Kyoto vote was 96 to 0 against it due to the tax it imposed on the USA. Kyoto was more focused on raising money from the US taxpayers than it was about helping the environment. Even the politicians who blamed Bush for not supporting Kyoto, such as John Kerry, actually voted against Kyoto.

These guys never give up. Now the UN wants to impose a tax on worldwide billionaires based not upon their income, but on their wealth. That means it is a recurring tax on the same wealth.

I wonder which third-world dictators they plan to support with this one.
