Your numbers on the US are low by a longshot.

Neah...They didn't put the civilians killed in Irak, or the resistance in Afghanistan, etc...They were counting arrested terrorists.
They were counting the war against terror, not a war against another country. Terrorist are not in Baghdad. They are in the US, Canada, Australia, Egypt, Sweden, Japan, Italy, South Africa, Brazil, Germany, Chile, Mexico, UK, Bahamas, Greece, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Poland, Irak, The Netherlands, China, Russia, Israel, France, Mongolia, Nicaragua, Tunisia, Norway, Palestine, Singapore, Venezuela, Belgium, Korea, Spain, Ecuador, Indonesia, India, Portugal, etc...etc...etc...

  4. I'm pretty sure they are doing a good job catching terrorists on US soil as well, it's just classified, as it should be. So there is little data on the numbers.

Then "they" were still wrong. I happen to know they arrested two people on an Amtrak in Ft Worth within 24 hrs of 9-11... they were the guys that didnt make their flight. So basically your sources numbers were wrong by 9-12.

Your source has an ax to grind, as apparently do you. Is there a fuckin point to your constant carping about the war on terror? I dont see you personally lifting an oar... if you really think you can do a better job, get off your ass and do it. Otherwise you're just another guy in the stands telling the real players how to make a touchdown. Everything's easy for those that dont have to do it.

And by the way, yes there ARE terrorists in Baghdad. A friend of mine is a former naval intelligence officer that retired and now does the same type work (anti-terror) via a civi contractor role. Three guesses where he just returned from.

I should re-phrase: They are not only in Baghdad, they are also in Irak...
So, it is classified in the US (not surprise, with all the censorship in the US) except for the one guy...

I just hope the new administration will begin a war against terrorism finally. It's about time after what they did in N-Y. We cannot just go to war in Brazil (for the brazilian nuts?), Irak (for oil?) or Australia (for the kangourus?) (I could choose other examples though). We must go against terrorism....

As mentioned before, if the US hadnt been fighting terrorists full-time since 9/11, you'd have heard a lot more things go boom on our soil. We've had people on the job both here and abroad. I know some of 'em.

As for the Irak / Oil thing... gimme a break. You can't possibly still believe that in the light of overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

Just because you attribute a lot of the ills of the world to Bush doesnt authorize you to make up your own facts or pass propaganda as if it were true. Any numbskull can put gibberish in a blog for you to read... just because it reinforces your own predispositions doesnt make it accurate.

That the intel community is by nature covert shouldnt make you look around for a fainting couch. Terrorists don't wear matching uniforms, live in the same country, and fight set-piece battles under a flag. If there was an announcement to the public every time the intel guys nail someone it'd also be seen by the terrorists buddies, and ruin the chance of catching the next guy that'd lead to the next guy, etc. The field on which the conflict takes place just depends on where we find them, but we've been at war with terrorism for 8 years. Suggesting Obama should *start* it just signals that prejudice against anything Bush accomplished is over-riding your ability to discern fact from fiction.

I realize you've expressed anger that during the Bush administration the government started keeping closer tabs on non-citizens within our borders. None of the guys that hijacked the planes on 9-11 slipped into the country illegally, they were here on visas. That indicates we DO have to keep closer tabs on foreign nationals on our soil. Welcome to the post 9-11 world. Thank the terrorists for any inconvenience.

Don't make me wrong. I don't blame Bush for the shit we are in. It's terrorists fault, no doubt. Bush is just an idiot who couldn't handle the situation, that's all.
Again, there were no boom on this soil, no boom in Lichtenstein neither. So does that make Lichtenstein intelligence good?
The only thing we disagree with, is you truly believe, as the majority of Americans, that the US is doing a war against terrorism. And I don't, as the majority of the world...
But that's OK, we still have some kind of freedom of speech and opinions here...

And again, if you think the terrorists have no preference whether they bomb here vs elsewhere, you're kidding yourself. Bush did an *excellent* job of controlling that. He made mistakes as does every president, but on this issue he gets a good grade, even if you *choose* to ignore it.

We disagree on much more... we disagree on whether Bush is an idiot, whether the muslim terrorists just generally want to kill someone and dont have any particular bone to pick with the US, whether Mexico is a poor country or not, we disagree on whether we conquered Iraq for profit, whether it is necessary to know exactly where every foreign national is rather than have a vague notion who's here... and the list grows. Nothing personal, we just don't seem to be working from the same script.

If the entire world disagrees with me (or with Americans in general) on a matter of fact... it doesnt matter, facts are not decided by a majority vote. Facts are constant regardless of who does or doesnt believe them. We have been at war with terrorism... whether you acknowledge that or not doesnt change it.

No preference. They bomb Madrid, N-Y, London...anything in or against a democratic land...no preference...

The first statement drives us to the others...
The US is making a war against Irak. The world is doing a war against terror, each country in their land, avoiding unwilling invasion...
Last week, Belgium arrested 14 terrorists. They didn't do it in Spain. Spanish authorities did that before, in Spain. There won't be an invasion in Spain by Belgian troops to make sure that terrorists won't bomb Brussels, no need...Beside, you can find paella in Belgium as well...so no need for invasion...
