Thread: Working on a political campaign

    Working on a political campaign

That's my excuse for not being in much lately. Helped build a website and social pages for a candidate and now doing social media work in support. You can find the candidate in my sig. If y'all were to follow him on twitter or LIKE his FB page it'd help. I just have to make sure no brilliant strategist convinces him to buy likes or followers. The campaign primary is in March, so he's got time to build.

Anyway... just lettin y'all know where my time's been going. It's a new experience doing them at a higher level than municipal. More money has to be raised. Glad it's him and not me. I'm ok if someone decides to make me all powerful ruler of the planet, but I dont wanna run for the office.

    Hey, Mark Skinner!
Following him on twitter and fb!
Did not know you did that work for him.
    Congrats.

Funny yesterday, one conservative woman I was following on FB.
She posts too many times stuff that just is not true.
I called her on it and she damn well BANNED ME!
Guess even on the right, there are people who just do not want to know the facts!

Rob, I thought the title meant that you were running for office. I started packing up to move to Texas to give you my vote.

People like that in general (right or left) are dammaging their own side credibility.

Well you all go to Texas.
I left there and came to Iowa.
    All things considered?
    I made the right choice.

True, lie about anything, you damage your cause and your reputation.
I see this a lot on twitter.
Mostly from the left of center people.
But once in a while, from the right of center people.
    With one big difference....
Those on the left call people names if facts are brought up.
Those on the right say ooops! I should have checked before tweeting.

If any of y'all are game for a little assistance, jumpstarting a new twitter account for a candidate is a beast... so if you happen to retweet or converse a little with @MarkSkinnerTX, it won't hurt. I want his account to build legitimately, not gonna do any follower buys. It's a slow process.

His politics pretty much mirror mine, so you have an idea where he's at. [He just talks in better English than I choose to use, with less blue language. ]

Well, for free, and to be nice, and because I am hungry and waiting for my dinner....

I tweeted out to all my followers to follow him and to go to his site.

Now you tell him he had best be following me or I will drop the hammer of death on him!
    Hahahahhahaha

I notice the press is all over Wendy Davis shoes and her "life story". What they don't mention is her voting record ... it is way out of sync with her district.

She's a tax and spend liberal, a late term abortion fan who sees no benefit in making rules that would deter the Kermit Gosnell's of the world, and even voted against campus carry.

Campus carry would allow students who have passed the background test and classes to obtain a concealed carry permit to exercise that legal right on campus grounds. Historically armed civilians have stopped several school shootings, and licensed carry Holders have a lower crime incidence than the general population (less than 1%, and they have a lower incidence of crime with firearms).

Wonder what Wendy Davis should use as a twitter hashtag in her fight against campus carry?

    • #StandAgainstTexasWomen?
    • #Workplace SafetyForMuggers?
    • #StandWithCampusRapists?

But statistics and logic do not matter to Wendy and her friends, only political correctness. How can you not fully support the 2nd amendment and pretend to represent the people of Ft Worth Texas?

Hey. The Democrats are always staunch supporters of the rights of criminals and terrorists. Those rascally Republicans just want to stomp in the rights of the bad guys.

I saw some statistics a while ago that was part of a study of incarcerated felons. Before they lost their voting rights after being convicted of one or more felonies, 90% voted Democrat. Can you figure out why so many Democrats want to restore the voting rights for convicted felons?

If I remember correctly, the 90% statistic was confirmed when 1100 convicted felons in Minnesota were found to have illegally voted during the Al Franken - Norm Coleman recount after the 2008 election. After the recount, Franken won by only 312 votes. When the voter fraud with the felons was discovered, the state refused to subtract 990 (90% of 1100) votes for Franken, even though a follow-up showed that 90% of the 1100 reported that they voted Democrat.
