For me, it was simple. On the first day I made $X. I said to myself "OK, I've made $X from Y pages. I want to make $200/day, so all I need to do is make Z number of pages. I can do that. And, if I promote my pages better, I can do it with an even smaller number of pages."
The same sort of simple math worked when I decided to move to $800/day -- except that falling CPM caused my calculations to be 100% off by the time I reached that goal.
