Thread: Please tell me what this is called

I need some help I would like on one of my sites a bar that is stationary on the top of the page in excel its a freeze panel if possible a javascript one as I dont want to use frames I just have no clue what to research I am really losing it lately.

Easiest way is to use CSS, make a block level div (id instead of class) that is "position: fixed;" but you'll need to defines it's coordinates with top and left.

Is there a technical name for this bar? Thank for the pointer

I would just cal it a toolbar, and a google for "css toolbar" brings up this link which looks like it might be what you're after.

Found a toolbar script on my computer I had downloaded from some forum a while back.

I remembered that someone had asked about such a toolbar here.

Since I have bothered to upload the file to my hosting, and came here looking to reply to that thread, I'm going to post a link to it anyway.

I'm tempted to merge the threads, but it might be impolite of me to merge messages into a thread someone else has closed.

First thank you for finding a solution. I only closed the thread because the issue was resolved. I have opened it back up so Will can merge them I wouldnt have found it impolite at all. Keeping it all in one location is great for anyone looking for one in the future.
