Thread: What do you think about jQuery?

Hybrid View

  1. Smile What do you think about jQuery?

    Hi,

Gaya has been talking a lot about jQ so I have decided to learn it.

I have been visiting jQueryui.com, but have not yet started.

Do you know jQ? Is it easy? How long will it take?

Do you have any other resources?

And last question- Do you need to know Java for jQ?

    Thanks!

To be honest, I have not tried it, but have seen some impressive work based off of JQuery

It totally rocks- not found anything that I haven't been able to achieve - documentation could be better though.

jQuery is my weapon of choice for web development stuff that needs javascript magic. There are lots and lots of plugins to use with this javascript library that cut the development time for javascripting by 99% (there seems to be a plugin for every thinkable thing )

  7. When I see a nice web site, I often view the source code to see how it's built.

I am seeing jQuery all over the place. It's quietly become enormously popular with developers.

I never would have guessed that a client-side language like JavaScript would make such an amazing comeback.

Well they are probably thinking video, but i am thinking appearance of a webiste, html can hardly compare to flash when it comes to the possibilities of appearance and flexibility.Thats the reason why i said that jQuery is the best alternative to flash.
