Thread: What is your favorite Javascript framework?

  1. #1

What is your favorite Javascript framework?

In the past I've been working a lot with Prototype and Scriptaculous as you can read on my blog.

But since a few weeks I use jQuery and must say I was surprised about how easy it was to pick up the basics.

I'd recommend jQuery to all. What are your thoughts?

  2. I am not into Java, but since I have heard a lot about jQuery from you, I guess I will give it a shot.

    haha just kidding!

I learned everything from a book. Javascript for webdevelopers if I recall. Learned a lot. jQuery was just something I learned over time by reading their docs haha

Out of all the Javascript Libraries I found that I love MooTools, although jQuery isn't bad either. I just found MooTools to be easier to use than jQuery.

Do that mean that Mootools is easier or better?
I find jQuery coding super easy (i believe anyone could pick it up).
Try coding with prototype + scriptaculous and you'll know what I mean .
The reason I don't use mootools is that jQuery seems to be more powerfull.

Well, I found MooTools easier to understand than jQuery, however I am a bit biased in the fact that a friend I know is a genius coder and he uses MooTools.

maybe he began with using mootools and sticked with it.
like I did with Scriptaculous at first. Glad I made the switch to jQuery though.

Well I had asked him about jQuery and he had said he finds MooTools more suitable to his needs. Suppose it is just up to the user which one they feel more comfortable with.
