Today I added a blog on homepage to get it indexed, but when I tried Google, I found its indexed as I was expecting. lol

It's indexed because I put the link of the site where I had content in NB. It means while Google (bot) was reading my post, he saw the link and kept in his database.

Yup, I had just installed wordpress few hours back so that Google can index it. But I found it was already indexed because of the link I put on NB signature yesterday.

Why do you think that this is important when you do not have any useful content on the site? You would be better off waiting until you actually have some real content on the page.

The problem is not one of getting a site indexed; The problem is how to get it to rank well AFTER you have posted good content. There is zero chance that the site will rank well as long as you have the default Hello page for WordPress displaying. If you do not remove that, the site may be filtered out once the duplicate content filters kick in.

I strongly recommend that you post some unique, quality content immediately.

I just wanted to get it indexed so that when I update, it too gets updated. I was just curious to get it indexed.

Thanks for the useful piece of advice, I will immediately change the content of the homepage.
