Thread: Backlink Building Before Hand

Hi,

This another dummy me question.

What will happen if you start building links before the site goes live?

I have never seen many hits from linkwheel and such to my site. So if I was to start building for lack of a better term cheap, easy, links to a coming soon page would you do it?

I would put up a short article or a few hundred words of the home page content instead of 'coming soon' page. When you go live, just add to the content.

I wouldn't even do that type of link building to a site that is live.

If you build cheap, easy, links to your site then your site will be seen as cheap and easy.

like bogart said : write some article is better then coming soon page .... how abt add your site description on it ? so when google index, they index right description

Hi,

I know I said linkwheel maybe you don't like 2.0 pages., forum sig links, submitting to directories, article marketing and all those who is sites. Those are all cheap, easy, links to your site that I have found bring very little to NO traffic to a site.

I have articles on ezine that in a year might have brought me only 10 hit.

So what do you do to build links to your site?

for me link is link ....... so build anything that can, even with web worth link ...

Sure a link is a link is a link.
And the bottom line is, the more of those links you have, the better in the serps.

But like Sami pointed out, not all links bring traffic.

One must build also links that actually bring traffic.
(oh, and do not say SEO will bring you traffic, that is so damn newbie).

I don't do article marketing, like Sami, no traffic and really, a waste of my time.
(oh, and do not say that is the best way to build backlinks, it is not and again, so damn newbie).

Now for good links bringing good traffic?
One must find those blogs and sites that actually get traffic and actually send you some traffic.
(oh, and do not say get your links on high page rank sites/blogs, I am talking traffic, not pr, and if you do not know the difference, you are so damn newbie).

That is why I go for sites/blogs that bring me traffic, not pr.

As an aside, today someone said, why I should I advertise on your blog, it has no pr. That is always the wrong thing to ask or say. It is about TRAFFIC!

dont expect links to bring traffic.. some do, some don't..

If your ezine articles are not bringing any traffic, then you must look at other factors, like a catchy resource box, length of article, the link building to that article.

I have an article that with little link building got to #5 in google, it gets thousands of views a month, but only a 10% ctr to my site. another article gets half the traffic but has a 35% ctr.

Moreover, links may not bring traffic, but they boost ur SERPs.

link and advertisement is two different thing .....

One must build also links that actually bring traffic.

So why not just build links that actually bring traffic and stop wasting your time with building links that don't bring traffic?

With all that Google knows about sites and about you now, don't you think they might be paying more attention to links that bring traffic and adjusting rankings accordingly?
