Can we relate Alexa Rating and PR?

Hi guys,

Simple curiosity. Most of the sites will be having comparatively related PR and Alexa Rating. Isn't it? Say if a site is having good alexa rating, It will be having good PR too.

So what should be an approximate alexa Rating for a PR1 site?

Well, but in same cases that doesn't happens !

Like I have seen some PR4 sites with Alexa of 1,555,555.

And also seen some sites with PR0 but Alexa 200K.

yeah you are very correct..Don't know what is or where is wrong. I too have seen some sites with very low ranking with high PR and some sites which are having very nice alexa Rating but no PR

Yea, there is very little correlation:
1. Alexa ranking is based on visits by people who have the Alexa toolbar installed
2. Google PageRank is based on inlinks to the site

These two have very little in common.

Both are different things . I can show you many blogs those have PR0 and Alexa is below 100k and many times we can find alexa below 50k too .

Alexa is spyware and because of that, its not accurate.

Keep in mind, every time you post a thread or a question about alexa, your promoting spyware.

A high Page Rank doesn't guarentee that a site will have good traffic. Also consider that there are more ways to obtain traffic. Search engines aren't the only game in town. Traffic can be purchased from banners ads and PPC. Type-in traffic can also be generated from off-site promotion.

Build links for traffic and don't worry so much about PR. You will be mush happier.

From where you got this information? Many many many people are using alexa and I think its just like a standards for ratings isn't it. I believe so even though am not sure about it? I don't think that alexa is a spyware. If you are sure, try to bring some proof, it may can help others.
