Hi,
Does the text linking to you matter?
I mean if a site links to WebmasterPeers.com as 'TheWebmasterPeers' will something happen to the SERPS?
Thanks

Yes, I have read that they do.
Any case study or links to prove it.
I found some blog posts that said yes and some that said no.
From what I understand it still matters (in a positive way)
Here is a case study :D
Recently a really really big entrepreneur (Let's call him 'ABC'). He is also a bit into blogging.
When he first started blogging he was writing a blog under a pseudonym.
That blog was super duper popular and he had like 15k RSS subscribers etc etc.
Soon many people came to know of his identity and linked to him under his name (ABC).
Even though on his anonymous blog NO WHERE does he have ABC on it, when you Google ABC that blog comes up first.
This proves that the text linking to you sure has an impact.
Thank you everyone for the replies.
Farrhad, now I know that it matters through your case study. :)
Yes, this text is called anchor text. It is very very helpful for Seo. This is the reason that article marketing is so important for Seo.
Yeah, I would think it would affect it because it is most likely published in an article of some sort, which means someone is referring to your site, giving you a good name. But, I have no evidence to prove my statement....Sorry :(
