    finally outranked my competitors

    i discover one of them is using tripadvisor's forum to promote his travel site links lolz
    i then register to tripadvisor's forum and posted link of my sites related to those inquiries

    the links isn't dofollow though but links can gain about 50 + visitors

    That's what I called a traffic gold mine... hhmm... thanks very much for sharing... I guess I have to snoop around my competitor's backlinks...

    Posting on related forums is great way to get some targeted traffic but you have to be careful not to spam... You can also try to comment on travel blogs(this is another way to get some traffic).

    I also suspect that Google is still following nofollow links so don't care too much about nofollow...

    I'm still not in the number one though. but at least I'm now in the 6th position in the first page so not bad.

    You have to build links constantly and you'll get there(1st position...). Remember, TripAdvisor is not the only travel forum around

    Congratulations! One of the effective strategies is analyzing your competitors' backlinks! Such a 'cheat' move!

    That's why backlink checkers are close to being 'SEO-god'
