What are the ways to market your site or blog through free option. I have tried paid options like adwords and other similar PPC sites and found good success through it but just wanted to explore the free options. Can someone help?

yes i agree with wins. you could use sites like stumbleupon or digg to get traffic and apart from that you could use social networking sites like facebook. you can also post a link to your site in website forums to gain traffic.

There are more free methods: forums posts and signatures, blogs comments, social bookmarking, etc. If you have no idea how to write article these methods are good alternative.

Create a directory of web sites on a specific topic. Give people the option of adding the directory to their web site by linking to it. Put your business advertisement at the top of the director's homepage. This technique will get lots of people to link to your web site and give you free advertising.
