Good case for sticking with white hat

The increasing popularity of black hat SEO, as if SEO isn't boring enough as it is, is really annoying me, and killing the enthusiasm I might have once had for this kind of business. Black hat isn't really about building value, it's about cramming your crap down people's throats and calling it a "service", to put it bluntly.
