    Google Panda 2.5 Update September 18th 2011?

Anyone noticing any SERP changes? I started noticing a change last night in the ranking of one of my new sites last with an improvement to #2 from #11. The site has been "dancing" between the 2 results. I'm wondering if this could be Panda 2.5

I have one website that keeps moving from number 3 to number 8-9 every few days. And nothing changes on the website ever week.

I've not noticed any changes in my ranking, although it may be too early to tell.
I build and maintain a website about dehumidifiers I've even started a blog about them!

Panda usually takes a couple of weeks to detect as only around 5% of websites are effected.

In my case, a move from #11 to #2 is significant as the keyword has 40k local monthly searches. But the funny thing is that the site has been "dancing" around at #2,#10 and #11 since Sat. night.

They updated that post to add that Google denies that any new Panda updates have occurred since August.

I didn't see a Panda update, but it looks like there was a Places update. It looks like quite a number of Places listings with obviously phony reviews got bounced out of the search results.

I've been telling people that when you get 30 positive reviews in your USA Places account within a week and they all come from IP addresses in India, you will eventually get caught.

Correct. There's some other Google "update" or "data push" going on. I have a number of new sites that are dancing between #1/#2 to the lower 1st page/top 2nd page.

There's a lot of noise about this Google update starting on September 16-18th, 2011 at WebmasterWorld here.

It may not be a Panda update, but the Webmaster World thread makes a good point about the 500+ algorithm changes that Google said they were going to make this year. The change may not technically be part of a Panda update, but could be a new update unrelated to what Google refers to as Panda.

It seems to me to be some sort of testing on a few datacenters, and the changes aren't being propagated to the other datacenters. Not very noticeable in terms of earnings which leads me to believe that the testing is being rolled-out on only about 10-20% of the Google data centers.

My 4 sites that were affected have already been rolled back. But, another new site of mine has moved to #1, So, the update is ongoing.
