I mostly build links through link-baiting and article marketing.

Do you buy them? Links blatantly? No.
Do you exchange? Been getting offers lately. Currently no. May rethink that.
Do you hire a SEO team/company? No.
How much do you spend on a monthly basis? Time is money.
How is your ROI? Could always be better!
How long does it take for you to breakeven your link investments? < than a month. Site's still new.

My strategy for getting back links is simple.

Step 1...Drink Beer
Step 2...post in blogs
Step 3...Drink more beer
Step 4...Post in forums
Step 5...Drink more beer
Step 6...Write Content & Publish

Repeat this all night until you get banned or you cannot spell.

It works for me because I rank for thousands of misspelled words.
