My question is simple. How many search keywords can I target per page or per post.

Hm, I would say three at the most. The keywords should also be pretty similar. If you target to many keywords that differ from each other, Google will think you are a scammer.

I do not think there is any limit but I recommend around 3 keywords. Easy to target. You can link build with that target text, will make the SERPS rankings improve faster.
