Search engines also crawl RSS feeds to find and index new content.

It can also help you to get nice traffic from your loyal reader everytime you post new content if your reader subscribe to your RSS feed because you have quality article.

RSS is used for distributing headlines, new content and notifications to many people with the use of programs that manage the material. RSS notifies the readers or internet users automatically whenever the new content, news of their interest arrives at the website.

I think that for static sites, there is no point in having an RSS feed.
