A link in PR 8 will Give PR 5??

Hi guys,

is it true? I've read in an article that a good link in PR8 may give the site a Page Rank 5. Am a bit confused. Is it correct?

And one another doubt of mine is what is here the 'good link' stands for?

The answer depends how strong the PR8 is and how many other links the PR8 page contains.

A page can be "barely PR8" or "almost PR9" and still show PR8.

If you're the only outbound link on the PR8 page, you get a lot of link juice. If there are 500 links on the page, you're not going to get a lot of link juice.

Sure it could, maybe even a pr6

I had sites get to pr5 and pr6 from just one pr7 link, as Will mentioned depends on a few factors

is it necessary to have our link in the index page? And what if am getting an only outbound link from some of the other pages?

It will not matter from what page the link is from. Keep in mind that some sites have higher PR inner pages due to deeplinking.

Most likely though a link on the homepage is better. Simply for the fact that it usually the page with the most traffic and most inbound links.

Is the index page PR 8, or is the sub-page PR 8?

It'd be pretty pointless having a link on a PR 0 sub-page, unless of course it were to be linked to from the index page.

I see that all the time about people talking about getting a link from a PR8 site. But the page with the out bound link is buried and has no pr.

The index only is having PR8. The other pages having 5/6 only. But these pages are directly linked from index. If am getting a link from any of these pages how long it can help me getting a good PR?

If your PR8 Site has about 100 outgoing links,then it will pass only 0.xx rank to your site...

But a PR 4 Site with just one outgoing link will give you PR 1 Or 2....
