Thread: Link Wheel Links to Ohers sites

Hi,

I have seen all the pictures on how to do a linkwheel.

My question is this would you give links in your wheel to your competition?

Would this make your links appear stronger if you placed your site between two experts in the field?

I backtracked a huge wheel that I found and that is what they are doing. Most links are going to experts almost like as if the experts have a really bad over linked wheel, That is easy to find, but a few links are going to a small newer site.

Some articles on the wheel are giving 5 and 6 links to the same expert site then to a 2.0 page giving a different expert like 2 or 3 links another 2.0 page and a deep link to the smaller newer site.

Article linking expert and 2.0 page; 2.0 linking to different expert another 2.0 and small site; 2.0 page linking expert, expert, 2.0 page; and so on.....

By the time I got done following this wheel the two different experts sites have hundreds of yourdomain.com links pointing to them, and the small news site has about 18 really deep links each going to a different internal page.

Can anyone give me a reason why?

Are you sure the big sites are separate? It seems counter productive to give that many links to a competitor, but it would make sense for the owners of the big sites to create a small niche site that they build up in authority and use to pass even more link juice back to the main sites.

I struggle with link wheels, they require so much effort to produce, I have some I'm proud of, and I don't link out to authority sites except only a few links, not as many as you're describing. I'd also be interested in reading comments from some of the bigger names here about their experience with link wheels.

BTW, if you've done that much research, you should start selling linkwheel services

Yes, I even checked wiki both experts sites are Not owned by the same people.

I could find No relations to the small site at all.

That is why I am wondering if playing off of the big sites is a help?

Thanks, but I don't have the time. I am doing research on how to promote and build backlinks for my new site. I have been told that part of that is to check where your competitions links are coming from and try to do the same or better. that is how I stumbled on this

Yes you tell to right thing. link wheel is lins many blogging sites. It is best generate traffic to a website. All the web 2.0 websites are not authority sites. they just tend to rank top because they are advice administration websites and frequently gets new content. Backlinks from altered websites aretreated equally by Google unless they are from reputed sites.

Link wheels are nothing but a group of websites that are interconnected which try to improve the ranking of a target website by linking to target website. For example if you have 50 websites in your link wheel and the website you are targeting is "yourdomain.com", then:
Site 1 links to Site 2 and back to the "yourdomain.com"
Site 2 links to Site 3 and back to the "yourdomain.com"
Site 3 links to Site 4 and back to the "yourdomain.com"
...
Site 13 links to Site 14 and back to the "yourdomain.com"
Site 14 links to Site 1 and back to the "yourdomain.com"
