Thread: Linkbuilding through sig links.

I was thinking about buying sig links from a member in DP. he has close to 4k posts..but if I buy his sig links wont google slap my site?? for getting too many links in very short time..

The site should get some benefit. But it will depend on the keyword that you are targeting. I've promoted some celebrity sites using signature links on a 10k post profile and have had good success.

but then, linkbuilding has to be a gradual and natural process.. was your benefit from the sig links for few days or was it for a very long time??

Natural linking doesn't mean a gradual process. To me natural linking is that a site has a balance of links or what I call a balanced link profile. So that the inbound links come form a variety of sources like social bookmarks, directories, articles, blog posts, blog comments, link pages, signature links etc.

The experiment that I conducted was last May on a site named Misa Campo. I had built the site about the Pinoy beauty Misa Campo about a year ago and had neglected it. But I noticed that it was getting a lot of traffic so I did some research and the site was ranking on the 2nd page of Yahoo and 3rd page of Google. After adding the signature links the site slowly moved to the 1st page of Yahho and is ranking around #13 on Google.

The site is no longer with me but I'm going to try a little expirement here. I'm going to add the site to my signature and see if it has a positive effect.

To answer your other question about the signature links. Even though the sig may have thousands of posts. It takes take time for the googlebot to crawl them all.

I agree, natural link building should not only be based on a link building technique such as forum posting. You should incorporate with one another all the link building methods as what Pareng Bogart has stated above.

DITTO. No matter how fast googlebot crawls, it will require some time for all the backlinks to be discovered.

It will not ban your site. Google will index those pages gradually not all at once. Especially older ones. However benefit from signature links is not so big.

I'm going to send out a shout to the owner of the Misa Campo site and see if we can get some comments on referals or the positive effects of the signature linsk.

If you will break Google's Webmaster's Guidelines then Big G will ban your site. And if google finds out that your backlinks are paid links, it may result for your site to be deindexed.

Yeah, I know we're from the same native land coz "Bogart" nicknames can only be from our dear motherland.

Well, we don't know about the aftereffect with your website but it not look natural if you buy link for promoting your resource and the large no. of links is possibly harmful in short period of time.

Google knows that the links are from signatures and coming from vBulletin forums. There shouldn't be any negative effects.
