The concept is similar, but the major difference is that with online marketing, you can track everything you do in real time. That's a huge plus.
You might even want to do only offline or online marketing depending on your target market. For example, if your target market is older people who don't have access to internet, then online marketing will not make much sense.

Yeap tracking is important to determine success of the campaign. I've seen people advertise different phone numbers depending on the channel ie. phone number1 for newspaper, phone number 2 for tv.
Seems expensive, you would need to justify the costs based on the offline traffic you would drive to the website.

I think offline marketing is expensive, it isn't too big also.It is something like spam emails.

It depends on your niche, and offline marketing is expensive and requires a lot of effort. I think online marketing is better, since search engines seem to be the best technique for increasing traffic.
