    Domain age does help a site in Google rankings, but it definitely isn't something that can't be overcome by some techniques. So, if your competitor is ranked above you, just keep building links, especially high quality links from trusted domains.

    Your aim is to prove to Google that your site is both trusted and more relevant to their search engine customers.
