Thread: Payment Processors

Just wondering what everyone is using for payments. I'm sure most people have a PayPal account and use that, but that only gets you so far.

I recently set up an e-junkie.com account. It's only $5/mo to start (you get 10 products and 50 MB of space). They'll do the whole shopping cart thing and digital delivery for you - very nice. You can even use discount codes. They support multiple gateways - PayPal, Google checkout, Authorize.net, and others.

Another bonus with e-junkie is that you can set up an affiliate program through them to pay affiliates for your products. Nice!

I've only had one problem with them. I set up a discount coupon so I would only pay 1 cent. I paid it (from one of my PayPal accounts to the other) and then it waited to verify the payment. It said it could not continue until the payment was processed - bummer. I NEED to have the buyer get IMMEDIATE delivery. I changed my PayPal settings to not block most things, so I'm wondering if it will still make me "accept" the payment first.

Still figuring it out and will let you know the outcome, but thought I'd throw this out there since it looks to be a nice option for payment/delivery processing.

I must admit, I was planning to get an ejunkie account for when my products come out and I need some affiliates as it sounds like a really nice tool. What information do I need to be able to start up? Will I need to link them to my bank account and stuff like that?

Bare minimum is probably a PayPal account. If you have other types of accounts you just put that info in your profile. It's really pretty sweet. I'm impressed with their service.

One of the features I can't wait to try is integrating TrialPay.

With TrialPay you can sell a product - say an ebook. I'm charging $17 for it. So if I use TrialPay, the buyer can actually "buy" it for free. Catch is they have to complete an offer to complete the "sale". Still, you get paid from the offer company (or maybe they pay e-junkie and e-junkie pays you - not sure about the details, but you DO get paid!) so in the end you're making money.

I think with all of the incentive sites out there and the fact that they do pretty well, TrialPay might end up being a nice alternative to get more sales. I think you can offer the TrialPay in addition to other methods of payment, but I'm not sure.

E-junkie is immediate delivery unless you specify anything. Did you want to test the links are working properly?

If so, inside the sellers panel, there is a send free download link link which you can use for the purpose.

If not, try doing the whole process from scratch, and don't set a discount code this time.

You may also use Paydotcom. Or even better, get RAP.

Nah. You need paypal.

But, I'd recommend you go with 2checkout if you plan to make it big. Or if you're planning for affiliates, then go Clickbank. Clickbank ftw.

I have the RAP script but have not really used it. I tried implementing it with one of my sites, but it got too complicated for what I wanted so I stopped. If I'm building something that seems a little more in-depth than it's probably worth using. E-junkie is nice because it's cheap and offers a lot of options.

E-junkie is of course very nice.

RAP is kind of for more sophisticated projects.

What project your using it for? :s2:

It's been close to a year since I tried implementing RAP. Since I'm focusing on the basics of your course I don't need it (yet).

For e-junkie, I'm actually going to use that in my Masters degree final project. I'm building a website for an associate that will sell music (songs, full albums) for local artists. E-junkie will work well for this purpose.

Sorry for the dumb question, but, what is RAP? lol

Rapid Action Profits - it's a script that you build a website on that can do OTOs, affiliates, manage products, etc. It's very nice. It does what a lot of pay services do, but you have all the control.
