Thread: Question about keywords

    Question about keywords

I just have a quick question about keywords:

For example, I write an article entitled: Choosing a dog name

I add the keywords: Dog, Dog Names, Choosing a Dog name

Everyone knows that the SE's see repeated keywords as spam (for example, "dog names, dog names, dog names, dog names").

As you can see in the keywords that I chose, "dog" appears 3 times.

Will the search engines be suspicious since I repeated this keyword 3 times?

    Thanks in advance,

    GameOver

Do you mean in the keywords meta tag?

Modern search engines pretty much ignore whatever you put in there.

Yes, I was referring to META tags

  4. Repetition in the keywords meta tag is to be expected, but as modern search engines ignore them anyway it's kind of irrelevant.

Thanks, I have never heard it like that before. What about META description?

Do you have META tags/descriptions on your websites?

From my experience yahoo rewards for keyword meta stuffing.

  7. Search engines will use the meta description.

Google Webmaster Tools has a Content Analysis module which will show you what Google thinks of your meta descriptions.

That is kind of amusing to me. I have a question too, since this thread is already posted.

How should I put in my keywords with the SEO all-in-one tool on wordpress? Would doing something like what gameover did be OK?

What I usually do is I write keywords-filled description in the SEO all-in-one plugins and so far it works very well. I don't know if my keywords also give significant contribution (considering of what Will's post above)

    Cheers,

I have another question about keywords that I thought I would post here instead of starting a new thread.

Suppose I wanted to target "choosing a fish tank" and "choosing fish tank", what keywords would I use? Are they to similar to use both?
