Thread: Search Engine Friendly URL's

  1. Search Engine Friendly URL's

    Hi,

Search engine friendly URL's surely help your SERPS. It is a proven fact.

    By this I mean: http://www.webmasterpeers.com/this-i...-of-the-thread

In WordPress it is quite easy to do, you just need to change the permalinks and you may need a redirect plugin.

I have done the same to WMP. It was a real headache, I messed up so it took me one hour, but it is finally done. Hopefully it should help.

Have you made your URL's search engine friendly?

    Cheers!

Yes, of course I have. Also, this is one of the biggest mistakes bloggers make...oh, and have you made your links search-engine friendly on Let's Sermo yet?

Haha, Farrhad recommends something he doesn't do himself! XD

I some people cannot do that since they're not able to update their .htaccess file.

I have done so on all my sites except Let's Sermo, as the posts keep failing to redirect.

Plus I really do not care for Let's Sermo in terms of search engine traffic.

You'r link in first post is error farrhad.
Anyway, about SE url's friendly. Yes, it's a strategy. But it's an option. To make own brand is not wrong also. If your content good enough, even bad url's can placed in top position at SERP.

Argh! But it's so easy! I know hardly any code, definately not enough to write a .htaccess file anyway, but I found this site called Google that helps with almost any question. All I did was type in 'edit .htaccess for links' or something like that and it told me everything! It's amazing!

Seriously though, it's easy, and it's even easier on WP.

And, I have mine in /category/post-name/

Hey, it was just a joke (thus the XD). I know that you're doing it on TDD and TBP.

There are people that CANNOT update their htaccess file because they are forbid to edit it.
