I have a question.
Lets say I have 2000 posts on a forum, and my sig link is displayed under each post, would that mean I have 2000 backlinks?
The reason I am asking is because I have close to 1000 posts on NB, and my link is in my sig. Yet, Yahoo Explorer only shows 543 total links, and maybe "150-300" of them are from NB. Why is that?

Even if they do pick them all up, you are only really going to get the credit for one of the links, the rest will be massively devalued, if they have any value at all.
I prefer to post on several forums so I get links from a number of domains rather than one. That said, I quite like here so I am trying to post quite a lot
The jury is still out on the power of signature links. I run some tests with 12,000 signature links form three different forums and the tests were inconclusive with only a signature link pointing at the site. However, when the thread and signiture links are aligned and a link is dropped in the first post, the site gets some positive movement.

I dont think it's that blunt, no. Im sure they have different weights, but if you have 3000 links from one site, I dont think each link individually would have a lot of weight. All of the links combined would have a lot of weight though.
I honestly dont believe in trying to get backlinks through forum signatures, I dont think they have much value at all.
I only use mine to advertise.
