Hi!
If you had to pick between concentrating on Social Media or SEO, which would you pick?
I would pick Social Media, as I feel there is more traffic that can be tapped.
Cheers!

SEO.
Social Media can be very good and stuff, but never defeat SEO for traffic. If you've picked the right keywords to target, you'll make it big.
Social Media, make a big presence, you've a good name in one niche, one market. You can absolutely dominate it (will take SOME work!) but then, you really can't depend on Social media for all your traffic. :D
I think that both cannot be neglected. I also reckon that if one goes up, it will all the same boost the other.
ie. The more you get traffic from choosing good keywords and building links, the more your site will get social bookmarked; and the opposite is also true.
I guess for me it depends on your purpose. If you want long lasting results with making money everday focus on SEO and use social media as a way to get the post ranked in google.
What I meant to say was if you want your blog to stay around and increase its traffic overtime then focusing your efforts on good SEO techniques i.e writing content that is themed well for the search engines and focus less on getting traffic from social sites you are much better off in the long run
For me, it's Social Media every time. SEO isn't as important as it used to be in my opinion.
There's so many more ways to promote yourself now, and Social Media is the next big thing, so focusing more on that than SEO is the best way to go in my opinion.
I'm not saying people should quit SEO all together, but they should be preparing to gain traffic through Social Media platforms. Search Engines won't be our way of discovering places on the Internet forever, yes this is Google's decade, but like IBM and Windows had theirs - something new's coming, and it's going to be bigger and better.
