Thread: Value of a link

I know there are time when we try to promote our sites that the link is disabled by default. Does those add value or the spiders just treat them as plain text ?

My hunch tells me they're just considered as text but let me know your ideas.

What I'm talking about specifically is below.

and

2. http://domain.com/

Does #1 have value at all ?

#1 is text and not a link. But could have value that people copy and paste the url into the browser.

In SEO you will get the backlink but no help SERP because its not link on any anchor text. If link is plain text then it will create only instance for site no back link no SERP help so no profit from these links.

In terms of link juice / SEO, there is no value in text based links. If it is an active link, then yes
