    Website Promotion Tips

Website promotion is an inevitable and integral part of every online business that wants to increase its revenues and potentials. When promoting an online business you simply follow the same principles as in promoting any kind of business, so as to make sure that other people get to know it. Promoting your business online is though quite much beneficiary if you know how to do it.

    • First of all you need to submit your website to search engines; this is the most practical and efficient way to drive qualified and targeted traffic to your website. Using search engines, you can actually attract a rather proactive group of visitors and people who are looking for products similar to yours. Google, Yahoo, Altavista, Lycos, are just some of them. Addme.com offers a wide array of submissions sites, both paid and free.
    • Internet directories are also a good idea. They can prove a valuable source of traffic and back links, which are very beneficial to your overall rankings. Yahoo and Dmoz are two directories you need to consider before everything else.
    • Use Trusted Feed. Trusted feed is a method that can help you increase your visibility and presence in search engines. It’s a hybrid search product which combines the organic listing in Yahoo with a particular bid structure, according to your field and category. If you own an online store and shopping business, then you will find this tool quite helpful, because it is a very practical search marketing tool for sites with high traffic and volume.
    • Launch an Email Marketing Campaign: email marketing is a very powerful and effective method of website promotion and lead generation. It is considered to be a rather aggressive marketing method, because it is more personalised, but it’s highly compensating when done correctly. Create a well targeted mailing list and make sure it is opt in; you don’t need to spend time and money on people who are not interested in what you have to say. Moreover an opt-in list eliminates the risk of being black listed for spamming.
    • Combine methods and practices and work on SEO. On-site SEO is absolutely necessary if you want to increase traffic and climb the search engines rankings.
    • Make sure that your website is accessible by all search engines. You can find that out using SEO Toolkit and checking your original WebPage copy.

    Website Promotion Tips

Well, We have seen that many big companies are investing thousands of dollar in SEO, the same can be done at affordable cost by following the same.

The first step in seo is to know your competition. Go to your competitors sites and analyze them. After you have a firm grasp to what your competitors are doing, you will be in a much better position to beat them.

Start with selecting the keyword tag that should consist of the most important keywords around which your website revolves. Once your URL is prepared start submitting it to webcrawler, Alexa, Excite and other open directories.

Than comes the work of off page optimization, you have to procure backlinks to your site from other pages, Remember the more backlinks it will help you to earn a good PR, the same can be performed by blogging, recirpocal links with other similar sites, writing articles and taking part in forums by leaving url as a signature.

After all this procedure remember that content is the king. People are looking for a site they can trust to provide accurate, information and products. They could care less about how many times the phrase they searched is shown on the page. they want real information.

Website promotion is one of the main requirements for a successful business venture and finding ways to promote your business at no cost is a huge bonus.

However could you please further clarify this point? How would you get the email addresses?

    Thanks.

There are three ways of email marketing:

    1) SPAM- this you should not do, e.g. 12 million email addresses for $50 type of things.

    2) Semi-SPAM- this is e.g. making people give their email address to get e.g. a free ebook and then emailing them a bunch of times trying to get them to buy something off you (some don't consider this spam but I do).

    3) Genuine method- this is the best in my opinion and the most beneficial in the long term- e.g. if you had a website about running, you could start a newsletter in addition to the content on your website and have exclusive articles, tips, product reviews and other content that is not available on your website. In time, because you are offering a quality product, you will gain readership and have much much more repeat visitors.

As you can see I am not too much of a fan of sending people emails unless they are expecting one from me. If I get an email that is not from friends/family or is not associated with me in any way and I have not heard of the company/individual who is sending, most of the time I will trash it.

I do not consider this spam, because subscribers have agreed to receive emails from you. But it definately is a wrong way to market. (Someones might not agree with me on this one though.)

But I use the 3rd way you mentioned. It works, I strongly suggest.

I respect your opinion however, if it had a box saying "click here to receive emails from me to try to sell you products", most people would not choose to accept emails. And when it is necessary give your email, they are not wanting to get emails from you, they are only giving you their email because they want to get the free product.

    Hi,
New to the forum but did had a question on email marketing. Are there any decently-priced third party services to get started with email marketing (with mail lists per niche) that you would recommend? Cheers, James

Maybe they don't know it. But they have agreed to give their email addresses to me. And that makes it (the opposite of spam). In lack of better word.

I would rely on building my own lists. Most third party lists are not opt in lists. And sending email to someone who has not agreed to give their email to you, is spam.
