Thread: What to do with $500 for site promotion?

If you had $500 to spend on site promotion, where would you spend it? On directory listings, on text link ads? On links?

Paypal won't accept a Visa Gift Card, so paying for something via Paypal is not an option. Unfortunately, most sites accept ONLY Paypal. By the way, you're missing out if you are only accepting PayPal, I know a lot of people who won't use Paypal.

So, what do you do with $500 for site promotion?

You should consider getting a PayPal account. That'll make things a lot easier on you. I can think of thousands of ways to spend $500 if it's in my PayPal to help promote my sites, including purchasing some clicks on TwtAd

I totally understand. In this case, though it's just NOT possible. I use prepaid Visa Gift cards for certain site promotions/link buys. Paypal just doesn't accept a Visa Gift card. I normally use Paypal for other purposes and other site promotions. Just have to use Visa Gift cards in this particular case.

sure, that's clicks, but I'm looking for more of a "longer term" benefit, perhaps like buying a directory listing? OR a one-time buy of a link on a site? Or even an annual fee?

I would probably google my favorite keywords and offer money to put my banner onto their sites.

Plan #1

I would set up a PPC campaign on AdWords. I would pay $0.1/visit. That would bring me 5000 visitors. If 1% out of them would buy my product. I would make 50 sales. That would be around $1250, if I would make $25/sale.

or

5000 visitors to my newsletter site. If 20% would join. That would make me 1000 subscribers. If 3% of them would buy my product, that woul make me 30 sales. That would be around $750, if I would get $25/sale. Plus, I would still have those subscribers.


Plan #2

I would find 10 low competiton keywords on Google. Less than 10 000 competitive sites. Then I would hire someone to write 10 articles/keyword. 300 word article costs around $5. 10 keywords * 10 articles = 100 articles. That would cost around $500.


Those are my rough plans.

If I had very little time to invest, I would ask Sturat or FrontPageContent to create a bunch of articles for me and distribute them to a large number of article sites.

If I had a good amount of time to invest, I would contact bloggers in related niches and ask them to guest post on their blogs. I would use the Visa cards as gifts for the blog owners or for pizza and beer to motivate me to write the guest posts.

My suggestion for you would be to get a PayPal account for you first. It will be much easier for you to invest anywhere

I agree with Will that you should hire some good content writer and get a bunch of articles written probaly related to health. You can also consider buying directory links or other text links.

Alternatively, it shouldn't be too hard to find someone who would trade a PayPal money for Visa money.
