Thread: What will be the future of SEO?

I think there will always be SEO. Because people will always search on the internet, we want our results on top, unless there's going to be a different concept like round table results.

One of the biggest issues with search is the lack of competition. Basically, Google and Bing control 99% of 'search'.

I think more traffic will come from social sites, hence google \ seo for search engines will dimise one day.. true or false?

There might be coming a lot of traffic from "social sites", but most of these search engines can't give the answers a search engine can

Yahoo is using the Bing (MSN search) which leaves less competition than you were thinking.

Yeah. The social sites are getting to look more and more like portals. Always the problem that people are lazy. When it's not in front of them, they will never look.

I agree with Razer_Thomas.... SEO will live with Google and die with Google...

cuil.com has some good results and the facebook integration is interesting. SEO could live without Google. But it's slowing evolving into SEM which has a better future.

Yandex.com could become an alternative in the future. I heard they are important in Russia (Yandex.ru).
