do Article submission, Participate in Forums, Social Bookmarking, regardless of this what you opt as most prominent and exclusive ones. Please don’t talk about directories here; I want to know the best answers from you guys.

Forum posting helps in promoting your site but it takes 25 to 50 post before you can put your link signature.. But forum posting isn't enough, you have to participate on other strategies as well, like blog commenting, social bookmarking, classified ads, press release, etc..

I think the most effective way is Forum posting, social bookmarking, article submission works..

You can also get back links on directories too though it requires a lot of time before your links to be approve..
Every strategies have there own rules and regulations, like forums, you have to have at least 50 post and be a member for at least 7 days before the administrator approves your link signature.. Free classified ads requires only little amount of days before you articles disappears or gone..
